Learning Experiences for Adults

FBCWheaton loves to encourage people to devote their lives to following Jesus; the One who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

It is with this commitment and journey in mind that we look to His words in the Bible. For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart (Hebrews 4:12).

Since we all know that learning is done best in a group setting, we currently offer two Sunday morning learning opportunities:

ABF (Adult Bible Fellowships)

ABFs function like small churches (sub-congregations) within the large church. Their hour-long meeting on Sunday morning at 9:45am includes, in most cases, a coffee time for conversation and relationship building, a period for sharing concerns and group prayer, and a Bible-based lesson time. Most groups also meet on other occasions for social activities. Currently over one hundred adults participate in an ABF and all groups are always open to visitors and new members.

ABLE (Adult Bible Learning Experiences)

ABLEs are elective-type classes that meet for a series of several weeks designed to go deeper on a specific topic vital to discipleship.  Classes are intergenerational and can be joined at any point.  Examples include Faith Goes to Work, How to Study the Bible for All Its Worth, and Just Give Me Jesus
